The lodge is located in the heart of pristine rainforest. It disposes of two billingual guides and offers various activities like birdwatching, hiking the jungle and wildlife viewing, swimming and sailing the Santiago river as well as getting to know the afro-culture of Ecuador. The lodge was build with local material and respecting the indigenous architechture. Visiting the lodge is a direct contribution to preserve 10,000 hectares of pristine coastal rainforest from the pressures of gold mining, wood and palm companies. The lodge and the surrounding forest is directly owned and managed by the community whose members work as cookers, maids, guides anf boat drivers, having this way the opportunity to have an income directly from the tourist activity and to improve their professional skill in tourism.
