A healthy environment and sound living conditions in destination countries are the foundations of a successful and responsible tourism. Therefore, it is a central concern of the German Travel Association (DRV), to anchor and strengthen this awareness in the German tourism industry as well as in travellers’ consciousness.

Since 1987 the German Travel Association has annually awarded its international prize EcoTrophea for exemplary projects in sustainable tourism.
