It is difficult to make generalisations about CSR without first examining the context in which sustainable tourism operates, its demand and also assessing the numerous certification schemes, codes of conduct and best practices within the industry.
The purpose of this report is to inform FIAS advisory work on CSR and certification with regards to the feasibility and desirability for low income countries to use certification and accreditation as tools for sustainable development.
