Travel Green BRICS, in association with the Tourism2030 online platform (formerly known as DestiNet), is excited to introduce an innovative initiative aimed at fostering sustainable and responsible tourism across the BRICS countries, with a particular focus on Africa starting with Zimbabwe.
DestiNet, now rebranded as Tourism2030, has been a pivotal force in advancing sustainable and responsible tourism practices since its inception in 2004. Spearheaded by ECOTRANS, DestiNet has functioned as a UN Partnership for Sustainable Development, offering a comprehensive platform for knowledge sharing and capacity building in the tourism sector. Through its 10-topic knowledge base and Triangle courses, DestiNet has facilitated the exchange of insights and best practices among stakeholders worldwide. Moreover, its services have played a crucial role in supporting certification bodies and destinations to enhance visibility and market access, thereby promoting the widespread adoption of sustainable tourism practices globally.
Under the esteemed leadership of Zimbabwe’s BRICS Forum Ambassador, Mr. Victor Muntanga, the Travel Green BRICS initiative aims to build upon DestiNet's legacy by digitizing green tourism offerings across BRICS countries, promoting them internationally, and advocating for sustainability through peace and sport initiatives.
