Preservation and protection of the ecological balance in exploiting the existing natural resources falls among the most prominent Company’s goals. The environmental conditions playing an important role in the overall quality of the tourist product and in view of their effect on the overall competitiveness and economic efficiency, considerable efforts in terms of investment allocation have been made towards constant upgrading of their attractiveness. For example, most of the Company’s investment in 2012 had to do with a complete reconstruction of the Hotel Laguna Parentium. Consequently, the new hotel has been upgraded to a 4 star category. Further, the application of the heat pump systems, a high degree of energy efficiency, as well as the environmental sustainability of this investment have made the Plava Laguna Company open a new chapter in the Croatian hotel industry. A certified energy efficiency study has assigned the hotel a high A class.
