	For over 10 years, the Environmentally Friendly Hotel Project (Green Hotel), led by the Department of Climate Change and Environment of Thailand (DCCE), has worked to enhance Thai hotels’ resource efficiency and environmental management, and prepare establishments for international environmental standard assessment. The Green Hotel Standards journey (through Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards) focuses on improving sustainability practices and reducing the environmental impact of hotels in Thailand. CERTIFIED is an independent certification institute for the hotel industry. CERTIFIED hotels and locations are qualified and certified by travel and event managers. A CERTIFIED GREEN HOTEL is based on the three pillars of sustainability – ecology, economy and social aspects. The CO2 footprint is included. The criteria catalog contains a total of 95 test criteria. In order to be awarded the certificate, all 11 must-have criteria must be met and 50% of the points must be achieved. The certificate is adapted to the strict requirements of international standards such as the Sustainable Development Goals (GDS) and Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
