Finalist, Global Tourism Business Award

Abercrombie & Kent (A&K), a global tour operator with its founding roots in Kenya, created its non-profit organisation, A&K Philanthropy (AKP), over three decades ago to strengthen its positive biodiversity conservation and local community benefit impacts. With 50 independent destination management companies (DMC) offices worldwide, each A&K office selects local projects for AKP’s support, also enabling A&K guests to visit the projects and make further contributions. A&K supports foundation operating costs, while AKP leverages its contributions through partnerships with other organisations, and ensures that 100% of guest contributions reach designated projects, which include such efforts as conservation and protection of endangered species, provision of clean drinking watering, and support for community health and education initiatives.
