Member of EDEN - European Destination of ExcelleNce

The town Kuldiga is located in the Kurzeme region (formerly Courland). It is known as “The Latvian Venice” as the river Venta flows along the town's houses. The historic and architectural heritage of Kuldiga is well preserved and several initiatives on including the town are on the UNESCO world heritage list . Winner of the "Best Emerging European Rural Destination of Excellence” 2007 (project European Destinations of Excellence EDEN).
