The town’s historical, cultural and traditional heritage,
based on the Legend of the Rooster, revives the administrative,
cultural and economic centre of the Podravina region. Habitats of sand dunes for unique flora
and fauna, ancient
forests and untapped sources of geo-thermal waters can be found here. Also festivals and art events all year round. Đurđevac is winner of the “European Tourist Destination of Excellence in Intangible Heritage” Award 2008 (project European Destinations of Excellence EDEN).
