The benefits of doing so will enable partners to use the Travel Green Planet Services API to minimize work and duplication of effort when passing on their information on their certified products and services. All cluster data information providers will be promoted on the Travel Green Planet Market Place alongside their products and services in a local-to-global data content.

A specific questionnaire has been developed for this purpose and provides full transparency of dataset use.

The descriptions of the certification programmes and the RDF listings will be biannually updated by ECOTRANS.

  1. Rights to Use the Data – Tourism 2030 Travel Green Planet Clustering Process Partnership for the SDGs

In recognition of the multiple stakeholders who have an interest in SME and destination Sustainability Certification and in further recognition of the multiple duplication of effort, time and cost that occurs when individual entities attempt to collate this data, Ecotrans has established an online Tourism 2030 Sustainability Certification Clustering Process launched under the Travel Green Planet Initiative (2019) to support collaborative data collation and use models for information relating to sustainably certified tourism businesses.

In this local to global process, the cluster operational structure involves members from the two key categories of data users and data providers to be supported by a secretariat whose role will be to facilitate partner collaboration and data exchange.  Ecotrans has the role of clustering secretariat, using the Tourism 2030 ICT Portal to manage partners collaboration in the capture and use of sustainability certification information in the travel and tourism sectors.

Cluster members collaborate with the secretariat to streamline data collection and distribution, sharing the cost burden among the members on a data usage basis. This minimizes duplication of effort and reduce the overall and individual cost of collection, collation and distribution of 3rd party tourism sustainability-certified and -awarded businesses, services and locations in order that Ecotrans can provide the data users with the most cost-effective means of obtaining the data they need.

Each Dataset User Partner is given access to the Tourism 2030 Sustainability Market Place, which currently contains about 20,000 listed 3rd party-assessed sustainably certified items globally provided individually by the Tourism 2030 Sustainability Cluster Data Providers such as yourself and then compiled as a transparent and quality assessed overall market listings.

Parties in this agreement will become dataset provider partners of the Travel Green Planet clustering process, a United Nations SDG 12 Sustainable Consumption and Production approach to collaboratively developing sustainable tourism consumption and production supply chains that is recognised by the UN as one of its voluntary initiatives to promote a decade of focused action on the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Rights of data use are given to dataset user partners who sign a Data Users Agreement with Ecotrans under the following conditions:

  1. Data Provision Process

Ecotrans will use an API (Application Protocol Interface) to process and forward the data as provided by the respective data providers such as certification bodies. Ecotrans will inform the certification body(ies) about the RDF export service to whoever is using the dataset. The certification body(ies) have the right to veto the use of their data in the data set export should they wish at any time. In that case Ecotrans will alter the RDF export  which contains such data.
