Its purpose is to collect reactions and gather the views of all relevant stakeholders and the general public on possible new initiatives at EU level which could usefully complement Member States' initiatives. This consultation exercise will feed the proposal on an "Agenda for a sustainable and competitive European tourism" foreseen to be adopted in September 2007.
